Terms & Conditions
By booking services with Lucky Horse Sitting, the client acknowledges and agrees to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Animal Information & Owner Responsibilities
The client confirms that they are the legal owner or authorised guardian of the animals in their care.
Clients are responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date information about their animals, including their health, temperament, behaviour, routines, medications, dietary requirements and any known risks or special considerations.
Any changes to an animal's health, behaviour or care requirements should be communicated to Lucky Horse Sitting as soon as reasonably possible.
2. Animal Handling & Behaviour
Lucky Horse Sitting will provide care with professionalism, patience and reasonable care, while respecting each animal's individual needs and established routines.
Horses should be reasonably safe and familiar with routine handling. Clients must disclose any known behavioural concerns, previous incidents, handling difficulties or other information that may affect safe care.
If an animal's behaviour presents a serious or ongoing risk to the safety of the animal, Lela or others, Lucky Horse Sitting may modify the care arrangements or, where necessary, cease services after reasonable options have been considered.
3. Veterinary & Emergency Care
In the event of illness, injury or another emergency, Lucky Horse Sitting will make reasonable efforts to contact the client's nominated emergency contact and/or veterinarian.
If the client cannot be reached and veterinary or other urgent care is considered necessary, the client authorises Lucky Horse Sitting to seek appropriate professional assistance on their behalf.
The client remains responsible for veterinary fees, medication, treatment, transport and any other costs associated with emergency or veterinary care.
Lucky Horse Sitting will communicate with the client as soon as reasonably possible and provide updates where circumstances allow.
4. Medication & Specialised Care
Medication must be supplied with clear instructions and in suitable, clearly labelled packaging where applicable.
Lucky Horse Sitting will administer medications and carry out agreed care according to the instructions provided by the client or veterinarian.
Clients must disclose any relevant medical conditions, allergies, previous reactions or other information that may affect the safe administration of medication or treatment.
5. Care Instructions & Property Requirements
Clients are responsible for providing the equipment, feed, medications and supplies reasonably required to carry out the agreed care.
Any important property information, including gates, keys, alarms, access instructions, fencing, utilities and emergency procedures, should be provided before care begins.
Lucky Horse Sitting will take reasonable care of the client's property and will leave the property secured as instructed following each visit or stay.
6. Changes to Care Requirements
Services and pricing are based on the animals, property and care requirements discussed and agreed upon at the time of booking.
If the number of animals, care requirements, visit duration, property responsibilities or other circumstances change, Lucky Horse Sitting may discuss and agree on adjustments to the care arrangements.
Clients are encouraged to communicate any changes as early as possible.
7. Overnight Stays
Overnight stays include the services outlined in the relevant service description and are subject to the agreed care plan.
Unless otherwise arranged, overnight presence is provided between 7pm and 5am, with the agreed morning and afternoon care included.
Clients must provide a safe and suitable environment for overnight stays and ensure that all necessary instructions and access arrangements are provided before the booking begins.
8. Regional & Out-of-Area Stays
Regional and out-of-area stays are individually arranged according to the property, animals, travel requirements and level of care required.
These bookings involve dedicated care and may require Lela to remain exclusively available to the client for the duration of the agreed stay.
The specific arrangements for each regional booking will be confirmed with the client before the booking begins.
9. Extreme Weather & Unsafe Conditions
The safety of the animals, client and Lela will always be prioritised.
In the event of extreme weather, natural disaster, road closure, unsafe property conditions or another circumstance outside reasonable control, care arrangements may need to be modified.
Where possible, Lucky Horse Sitting will communicate with the client and work with them to establish the safest reasonable alternative for the animals.
10. Photos & Communication
Regular photos and updates may be provided as part of the agreed service.
The client may request that photos or videos of their animals or property are not used for promotional purposes. Any use of images beyond Lucky Horse Sitting's ordinary social media or marketing purposes will be discussed with the client beforehand.
11. Liability & Animal Risk
Lucky Horse Sitting will provide care with reasonable skill, care and attention.
The client acknowledges that caring for animals, particularly horses and livestock, carries inherent risks and that animals may become ill, injured, escape or behave unpredictably despite reasonable precautions.
The client remains responsible for costs or consequences arising from pre-existing medical conditions, undisclosed health or behavioural issues, or circumstances outside the reasonable control of Lucky Horse Sitting.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded under Australian law.
12. Agreement to Terms
By confirming a booking with Lucky Horse Sitting, the client confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
If a client has any questions or concerns about these terms, they are welcome to discuss them with Lela before their booking begins.
Lucky Horse Sitting reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The terms applicable to a booking will be those provided or made available to the client at the time the booking is confirmed.
